SPECIAL INFORMATION FOR NEW READERS

   The Night of the Darkness, is an adventure story with sci-fi / horror overtones that I have written and hope to have released in print and e-book versions by the end of this year following its final edit.   The book is currently part of a trilogy under the banner of ‘THE EDGE OF NIGHTFALL’ (which includes a board-game).  

 

The version I am posting on this blog is an abridged* version of volume 1 and it is being released in episodic form as each chapter is edited.

 

Volumes 1 and 2 have been written, but both require editing which is one of the reasons that this blog was created.   I cannot afford professional editing so I am hoping readers will advise me of any errors that they come across, or advise me if they are having trouble following the story, or even if they think the whole book is a load of rubbish [in which case I would appreciate hearing their reason, preferably without expletives].  Vol 3 has been commenced, but is a work-in-progress at the moment.

The first thirteen chapters were originally blogged over a year ago, but a string of problems including the loss of my computer, and health problems, ended up delaying the following episodes from being output for over 12 months.   When I eventually managed to get things back on track I also decided to double check the previously output chapters and unexpectedly found myself not only re-editing those chapters, but adding major changes to some of them - and got the inspiration to add several new chapters in between those particular chapters.

As a result I was forced to delete the original blogs and start from scratch which is why I recommend that any new or previous reader start from scratch.

​

The first episode of the re-edited (abridged*)  version of THE NIGHT OF THE DARKNESS was initially released 02 March 2017 commencing with EPISODE ONE** and future episodes are released roughly every other week, occasionally less than a week apart.

​

** Reminder:  You can go directly to chapter 1 by clicking HERE, however if you 'search' for Episode 1 on wordpress manually please remember to type the  words "START HERE' and NOT Episode 1.    It often diverts to Episode 11 for some reason if you type Episode 1.

​

   *ABRIDGED VERSION:  This is the version that I am currently editing.   The final product (the released printed version) may or may not have an extended ending, and the story may have additional chapters added, or some deleted.   This does not mean that there is no ending to the blog version, only that the book version may differ to the blog version.

​

The story can be picked up as it goes on should the new reader wish to read it this way, but it is recommended that they download episode one and start from scratch as many of the chapters give clues to future events (including events in vols 2 and 3), and a background to those that have already happened in the protagonist's past).

​

All previous chapters are available on wordpress -  and all new chapters are released through wordpress, facebook and tumbler.

​

   Special Note:   There is no cost to read the abridged* blog version of ‘The Night of the Darkness’ episodes, and it may be redistributed to share with friends, but I would prefer it not to be reproduced in any other form of media if you wouldn’t mind.
